Research Centre - High Tech Products for Automotives

Research activities are carried out in the High Tech Products for Automotives Research Centre in the fields of automotive and transport. The research directions are: Advanced solutions for propulsion and transmission systems; Unconventional propulsion systems; Road safety, accident analysis and reconstruction; Road Traffic Management and Sustainable Urban Mobility; and Design, modeling and research of vehicle systems and components. Details of the research objectives, activities, research results and human resource involved can be found on the Centre's website (https://icdt.unitbv.ro/en/research-centres/high-tech-products-for-automotives/research-fields.html).

The research center has as results products in the field of motor vehicles and transport, but also offers services such as: testing of internal combustion engines, testing of fossil and alternative fuels, testing of auxiliary systems of internal combustion engines, analysis of propulsion system performance, development of alternative propulsion systems, dynamic tests for vehicles, tests of vehicle safety systems,  road accident reconstruction tests, driver behaviour analysis tests, road traffic studies, sustainable urban mobility plans, opportunity studies for the implementation of public transport services, noise maps, etc. (https://icdt.unitbv.ro/en/research-centres/high-tech-products-for-automotives/products-and-services-with-innovative-potential.html)

Research Centre - Virtual Industrial Informatics and Robotics

Through an interdisciplinary approach, the Virtual Industrial Informatics and Robotics Research Center focuses on developing autonomous navigation solutions, advanced driver assistance systems, driver-in-the-loop simulation, adapting robots to industrial environments, and digitizing cultural heritage assets. Our comprehensive research encompasses several key areas, including the development of advanced automotive systems and technologies; the creation of innovative human-robot and human-computer interaction systems that integrate data fusion, biopotentials, and haptic feedback; the preservation and promotion of digital cultural heritage; and the design of cutting-edge virtual and augmented reality applications. (https://icdt.unitbv.ro/en/research-centres/virtual-industrial-informatics-and-robotics/research-fields.html).

The latest research is aimed at developing an advanced simulation tool to enhance the driving experience and increase vehicle safety in the new age of semi-autonomous and fully autonomous cars. The proposed method will facilitate the transitions of control between drivers and (semi)automated vehicles while introducing the acquired and automated competencies of the driver into the learning process of the vehicles.
